Description
I’m offering for sale my Mercedes-Benz W123 200 Automatic Saloon, finished in silver. This is a very genuine example of one of Mercedes-Benz’s most respected models, showing an exceptionally low ~ 58, 000 miles, which is increasingly rare for a W123.
I bought the car approximately a year ago from a mechanic who had owned it for many years and had been responsible for its upkeep. As you’d expect, it benefits from a substantial amount of service history, which helps explain how the mileage has remained so low and why the car drives as well as it does today.
During my ownership, I’ve registered it as a historic vehicle so no ULEZ required and I have continued to maintain the car sensibly to keep it running properly and being used as intended. It starts and runs well and puts a smile on your face, especially with the sunroof open on a warm, sunny day.
Mechanically, it drives very well - the engine is smooth, the automatic gearbox changes cleanly, and it feels reassuringly solid on the road in the way only a W123 can. It has also just passed its MOT, giving additional peace of mind for the next owner.
This is not a concours or freshly restored example, and the price reflects that. It’s an honest car with age-related imperfections, but nothing that detracts from its usability. The exterior is in good condition with a slight imperfection on the bonnet and grill. The interior has the common dashboard crack and the drivers springs need renewing. I have bought the seat parts and they will come with the car.
It would make an ideal enthusiast project to gradually improve and refine, or equally a dependable and characterful classic daily driver.
A great opportunity to acquire a low-mileage, well-looked-after W123 that’s ready to be enjoyed immediately while offering scope for future improvement.
