For sale is my 1982 Austin Mini 1000 City E in Clipper Blue. 998cc (A series + engine), 4 speed manual. 61, 550 miles
Selling due to starting a family and having no time to dedicate to the car - it's time someone enjoyed it as much as we have!
I bought the car as a nut and bolt restoration in 2020 (detailed description below). Expansive receipts from the restoration are included.

2020 Onwards
In my ownership the car has became MOT and tax exempt, the last MOT being in 2022 (photo attached). The car has always been stored in a dry garage throughout my ownership.
In this time I have made some minor updates to improve the running and aesthetics of the car, all with receipts, including:
- New brake lamp switch
- Seat mounting extender (fixed seating position)
- Private 1963 reg with vintage black and white plate (to be sold with the car, unless buyer wants to revert to original 1982 plate - I would retain the private reg.)
- SMCO wooden steering wheel (installed slightly off-centre!)
- SMCO magnetic sump plug
- New 10x4. 5" wheels and tyres, wheel alignment re-done (fitted to fill out the wheel arches but also offers more stability when cornering compared to the 3. 5"s)
- New AccuSpark electronic ignition kit, coil, and HT leads (more responsive ignition)
- Spot-lamps fitted to front (aesthetic only, not wired up)
- New AP clutch slave cylinder (previous one leaked)
- New Fuel filter and braided flexi
- Chrome arch strips
- Quick release grille
- Chrome interior door accessories
Things to be aware of / monitor
- Hose from fuel tank to filter flagged at last MOT in 2022 (see MOT photo). Added a photo of the filter which shows the hose that passes through the bodywork. I changed one of these lines to braided when changing the filter but one rubber hose remains
- The ODO did stop working for a while, I'm estimating a ~500mile gap in the actual mileage (shows 61050, actual ~61550)
The car had a new service completed 09/ 08/ 25, items including:
- Oil change (20W50 Valvoline VR1 Oil)
- Oil filter (MANN 712)
- Air filter (Fletcher filter for HIF38 Carb)
- Spark plugs (NGK BP6ES)
- Suspension joints greased
