The Appeal
The classic Mini’s rejuvenation, which made the current marque’s success possible, arguably began here with the pretty Mini 30. Built, naturally, to celebrate 30 years of Issignosis’ suburban go-kart, it marked the first shift away from utilitarian Minis towards a much more special run of models that celebrated the car’s unique place in motoring culture.
3,000 30s were produced, of which 2,000 were built in this car’s Cherry Red metallic. It has to be one of the very best 30s in existence thanks to its barely believable mileage of just 2,212 miles. It is highly original and well preserved, retaining all the special 30 features that make these models so prized by collectors and enthusiasts. It presents well where you’ll want to check any Mini - underside, arches, sills and the base of the screens, among other areas.
The car is standard save for a desirable in-period upgrade. Alongside the factory anniversary celebrations, John Cooper Works offered a Cooper conversion for the 998cc engine. This car is fitted with that expensive modification.
The first of this car’s two keepers hung onto it until 2025. Last year it received a new battery, electrical checks and spark plugs, plus a fan belt. It carries a usefully long MOT, which is reassuringly free of advisories.
