Description
Completely original car, never involved in an accident and always kept in a garage. Mechanical condition in order and functioning. Works carried out: clutch replacement, recent tyres, inspection and replacement of some minor engine parts. Regular starting; battery near replacement, there is a system to neutralise the electrical circuit. Interiors in excellent preserved condition: original leather upholstery intact, original burr walnut dashboard perfect and consistently maintained with specific products, lighting system efficient. Original paint and chrome in very good condition. Original wheels recently reconditioned in compliance with factory specifications. Electric sunroof present, original radio with electric antenna. Original manual gearbox with standard gear lever and recently replaced gaiter. PROBLEMS: presence of rust blooms localized near the profiles of the windscreen and rear window, a phenomenon typical of models of the era, partially recoverable. Rest of the bodywork in generally good condition. Daimler Sovereign Van den Plas, registered in 1982, ordered new by a businessman from Busseto (PR) with a specific request for the manual transmission, a rare configuration as almost all units produced in the same year were equipped with automatic transmission. Keeps the original black first registration plate PR 363590. Bought in 1992 by the current owner, Corrado Testa, with about 60, 000 km; current total mileage about 90, 000 km. Car used regularly and kept efficient: one of the latest on-road tests showed excellent performance and full mechanical functionality even at sustained speeds. Model belonging to the third series, recognisable by the distinctive Daimler finishes, in particular the specific grille and the chrome profile above the rear number plate on the boot characterised by the typical undulations or grooves. An interesting specimen for originality, mechanical configuration and preservation. Personally I consider it one of the most beautiful and fascinating sedans ever produced.
