Early Life & Ownership History
The car was delivered new on 15 January 1994 to its first owner, Dr Galloway. The first two owners were clearly long-term enthusiasts who maintained the car regardless of cost, retaining every service invoice along with the fully stamped service book. Between them, they covered nearly 140, 000 miles in the car’s first twelve years, all of which was supported by regular 6, 000-mile servicing at Renault main dealers.
In 2006, the second owner sadly passed away and the car was taken off the road. It remained in storage until 2015, when it was purchased by an enthusiast with the intention of restoring it. Those plans were not fully realised and, in 2019, the car was sold to another enthusiast who went on to commission a full nut-and-bolt restoration.
Restoration
Between 2022 and 2023, the previous owner commissioned the car to a comprehensive, no-expense-spared restoration. The work was carried out by a well-regarded restoration specialist and is fully documented with hundreds of photographs and invoices totalling over £21, 000.
Since completion, the car has covered just over 1, 000 dry miles.
The car now presents in excellent condition throughout, with bodywork, interior, mechanicals, and underside all to a very high standard. The underside in particular is immaculate, clearly demonstrating the quality and thoroughness of the restoration work.

Summary
A Clio Williams Phase 1 with this level of history, provenance, and documented restoration does not come up very often. This is a properly restored, collector-grade example with outstanding early-life care, long-term enthusiast ownership, and one of the most complete history files you are likely to see.
Only two owners covered the car’s first 140, 000 miles, all of which occurred within the first twelve years of its life and was supported by 21 consecutive Renault main dealer services. Every service is backed up by original invoices and a fully stamped service book, clearly demonstrating how well the car was maintained from new.
The history file is extensive and even includes the original shipping tags from when the car was transported from France to Southampton.
I’m happy to provide the registration number and build number to serious buyers as well as share hundreds of photographs of the car, the paperwork, and the full restoration. The reason for sale is that I am moving house and will no longer have a garage to store the car.
