Description
Audi B8. 5 RS4 2012. 61k miles with a proper service history. Most recent service at 58k.
All the work which has been done is substantiated with receipts from the respective garages, first 5 services at Audi and then independents. (Please see service info’ below). For the purpose of the sale, I have put 12 months MOT on the car and new rear discs and pads.
The specification of the car is significant. The original factory build in ‘extras’ beyond standard was £17350 - I have listed 2 photographs of the original purchase price and the selected spec’. Highlights would be the carbon ceramic brakes, which are in excellent order and work incredibly well, wingback seats with Nappa leather, sports pack, reversing camera, B and O speakers and Prism Silver paint. There is still a lot more than this. The car comes with 2 working keys, which can be programmed to specific drivers, with their personalised configuration for driving.
The car performs superbly, the performance is excellent and despite being a 4. 2 v8, the fuel economy is not bad either. A previous owner had it carbon cleaned just before 50k, unfortunately, this work does not have a receipt. However, with the power, torque and economy, it is clearly a very healthy engine. It does not consume oil and cold starts are smoke free, I have videos of this. On tick over the rev counter is still, no fluctuation at all. The engine is quiet and there are no signs of chain stretch - on VCDS the timing is exactly right, requested and actual at worst were 0. 03 degrees out - a perfectly good set of chains. This was very important for me when I purchased it.
The gearbox and differentials were serviced just before 50k and they perform superbly. The 7 speed box is very well suited to the engine and allows a genuine Jekyl and Hyde experience. The exhaust has received a centre resonator delete, but is still extremely quiet with the flaps closed. When open, the exhaust note and volume is awesome. The noise reflects quality and power, not a boy racer with pops and bangs. I have out 2x K and N filters in it, which does give some cabin noise when accelerated spiritedly. The combination of this and the exhaust offers a theatrical experience.
The DRC is all dry and I have taken photographs of each shock and the DRC unions. It performs very well and is ably supported by the sports diffs. The 20” rotors are good, they are without kerb dash and present well. All 4 corners of the car have a Michelin PS. The fronts are 5mm and the rears 6mm. The arms on the car are all in good order too. No knocking, or clunking over uneven ground or speed bumps.
The car presents extremely well. There are some minor stone ships which have been touched in, but other than this, the car is extremely clean, no dents, scratches or anything else untoward, I am very careful where I park my cars. The paint has been detailed by myself and was ceramic coated in the summer - I am fastidious with cleaning and enjoy valeting, so the car is always immaculate. The interior is equally good, free from any damage and the leather has been properly cleaned and treated. The cabin is a nice place to be and if you like music, the stereo is nothing short of outstanding. It has DAB, car play, Nav, Bluetooth etc. the updated infotainment can still show the Audi information/ set up - this is what I use.
I was advised to advertise at 23-25k given the spec’ and the mileage. However, I do need to sell the car and have already replaced it with a B7 RS4, which is in need of some TLC. I am looking for £21500 firm, which I have been told is too cheap.
This is an excellent vehicle which I have thoroughly enjoyed owning. I have used it as a daily and I have been so impressed with it. I am a sports car enthusiast and am very careful about how vehicles are used. Being mechanically sympathetic is of paramount importance to me. My 33 year old Corrado VR6, which I have owned for 24 years is testament to this.

Thanks for reading - Steve the details belowI purchased this vehicle and thought I’d keep it for 2/ 3 months whilst I looked for a 335d touring.
I was so impressed with it that I have kept it and covered 4k miles in it. Ideally, I would keep it, but my house extension is already over budget, so I need to release some funds.
I have owned upward of 50 sports/ performance cars and this is one of, if not the best one I have had the pleasure of using.
It is a ‘proper’ car with an incredible specification. Quite the unicorn with wingbacks and carbon ceramics.
