Up for a reluctant sale is our 2WD 1998 Toyota Hilux, the much loved workhorse!
Mileage just over 77, 000 miles, and had Cambelt done about 15, 000 miles ago. MOT until May 2026.
The truck has 1 major issue - it requires a replacement Torsion bar on the front end. At some point soon it’s going to need some new tyres too, and if you wanted to go the whole hog, then the body work is looking for attention, however, once the bar and tyres are done, it’s ready to work in its hardy, bulletproof manner!
The chassis is in very good condition, and the cab is also looking good. The rust spots in the photos are in expected areas for a working truck like this, and are in single-skin areas too.
The truckman on the back is a great addition, though also easy to unbolt and lift off with 2 people if required. The truckman unit means that the bed is also ply lined.
2 previous owners, with the last, a good friend, owning it for 25 years, the last few of which it was kept in a barn for, doing light errands here and there.
It had a new alternator just a few months ago, and a recent exhaust replacement too.
We fitted a reversing camera to make those tight urban parking spots a little easier to handle. Super reliable engine, that fabulous 2. 4 Diesel.
