Series 4 with an original rare hardtop in fantastic condition, soft top has also been renewed in black fabric and stows a way nicely, many upgrades such as Weber carburettor, Acuspark ignition and a stainless steel exhaust, overdrive works well and the car is solid, the paint has obviously been redone a while ago professionally with a very deep shine, approx 4 areas have bubbled but not really noticeable and I personally wouldn’t have them rectified as you must appreciate its age of 62 years, chrome is very good, drives very well, a folder full of service history, in the last 2 years the previous owner has spent approx £6000 on replacing parts and an engine and gearbox rebuild, I’ve owned several of these cars and rate them highly, i purchased it last year on a bit of a whim and have hardly used it, a golf gti that I’ve always wanted has arrived now so something has to go.
