Description

I've been an MG Enthusiast for over forty years and I bought this in December as a project from a deceased estate. It was originally registered in Halifax and on my birthday so for me it was the holy grail! It's had two long term owners (first for over 30 years) but three changes of keeper in the last year due to the probate etc and it was last taxed for the road in 2013, having being taken off the road for bodywork repairs which were never completed.
It is showing 46000 miles which I believe are correct but can't prove it. It still has a pair of ancient Dunlop SP7s on the rear, made in England! It still has its original registration plates, the roof is original with the fold-down instruction sticker and triplex sticker on the front windscreen, factors that to me indicate a car of low usage. It is a restoration project but I feel well worth doing which was my intention, unfortunately a drastic change in my life is forcing the sale. It is very solid in all the important places, the front wings have had some repairs around the front, one door has been repaired and a rear lower half wing has been replaced. It is in need of the other replacing, drivers door repair or replacement and the scuttle panel needs repair at either side. Floors, sills, chassis are all sound, I think its had some front pieces of the castle sections replaced previously. The engine runs with excellent oil pressure but I think it is over fuelling so doesn't run as smoothly as it should. I have compression tested it and they're all around 175. It does sound 'tight' though as you'd expect from a low mileage engine. The clutch works, all gears engage and it does move and stop. It fairly obviously can't be driven so would need collection by trailer.
I would suggest any interested persons contact me for further details rather than me continuing to write this life story. There's also a box of brand new spares to go with it and a heritage certificate. The price is non-negotiable.
