Jowett Javelin Deluxe 1952 , four door saloon. By Jowett Cars Ltd, Bradford, West Yorkshire. Produced from 1947 until 1953. A streamlined radical design for that era, capable of around 80mph.
1500cc flat four engine, overhead valve, 50bhp, with twin carbs. Water cooled with radiator behind the engine. Four speed column change gearbox, rear wheel drive. Spacious interior and large boot.
Original registration JCJ 895 is on original number plates. Factory maroon colour, some of which looks original. Still has working semaphore indicators. Engine has good oil pressure and compression. Front grill completely removable for maintenance.
This deluxe version has the original beige Connolly leather upholstery, it has been repaired in places and needs treating with leather feed to prevent further cracking. The standard version used vinyl material. It also has wood veneer dashboard, instead of painted steel. A picnic table for the rear passengers, stowed on the rear parcel shelf until required. The chrome is in good condition, the bodywork is well built in thick steel. The interior could do with a tidy up, eg new furflex etc. The roof paint has discoloured at the front, but not rusty. Possibly had a cover at some point that trapped water underneath. It is fitted with cross ply tyres which look ok. There is a scratch on the windscreen which may polish out with jeweller’s rouge. The brakes have had some work done to them but are binding slightly. So it will need to be collected on a trailer or transporter. There is an original maintenance manual. The V5C is in my name and it is presently on a SORN.

£3950 ono. The engine runs ok it is running in the last five photos. There is a history file included in the sale showing receipts etc. The gears all work fine they just needed a small adjustment to engage reverse.
