Built just days before the closure of the Abingdon factory in 1980, this 1981 MGB GT LE is among the very last MGB GTs ever produced. An end-of-line Limited Edition example, preserved with extraordinary care and showing just 400 miles from new, it remains in outstanding, original coachwork condition — a true time-warp car.
In 2022 (@ just 61 miles), we undertook a comprehensive recommissioning and transformation, elevating it to what can only be described as the ultimate usable specification, while carefully preserving its provenance.
Crucially, the car retains its matching-numbers original engine, safeguarding its collectability. The engine has been sympathetically enhanced to produce approximately 120hp, thanks to:
