1994 TVR Chimaera 400
The 1990's were 'peak' TVR, with the Chimaera, Griffith, and Cerbera, they really hit the sweet spot. This 1994 400 has been well looked after throughout it's life, with just 27, 000 miles on the clock, it has been used sparingly and still feels in great shape today. I love how solid the car feels, it is really planted on the road, with lovely turn in and plenty of power. This is a car you can go to the shops in, or take to the South of France. The cabin is very comfortable, and it has a decent size boot.
I believe the colour is called Masala Red and is in great condition. The car was also spec'd with black leather, which is in great condition, no rips, or tears, and I have fed it so that it will be nice and supple for years to come. It also benefits from the optional aluminium dash, which looks spot on. It has a Sigma alarm, that is working as it should and unlocks from the fob. This car was also spec'd with power steering, which is just the right weight. I haven't driven one without power steering, but I'm guessing it is much easier at parking speeds with it, and still has good feel on the open road.
It has a mohair hood and lift out top, the rear window wasn't 100%, so I've had that replaced and had a new mohair roof too, this was all done professionally and is good as new.
The car has had a speedo change earlier in it's life, as well as periods of time not being used, so the battery had gone flat. This means the mileage reading isn't correct, but I have a printed history and old MOT's show the correct mileage. There is some history with the car, importantly, there is a service invoice from Summer 2025.
The all important chassis and out riggers are sound and in good condition, they look original, and you could go crazy and repaint, but it is perfectly usable as it is.
I bought the car last year, and have made sure everything is in working and the car doesn't need anything. I would keep it, but there is another car I would like, so need the room (and the money!)
Prior to buying the car, it had a full service and new MOT. It has 4 Good Year tyres in good condition with plenty of tread.
