Description
A handsome classic British motorcycle, which has been used and enjoyed in classic events.
It is powered by a 557cc side-valve H-series engine, coupled to a three-speed transmission.
This example is finished in British Racing Green with contrasting black mudguards.
It features a chrome headlight ring and a pillion seat over the rear mudguard.
The bike has been configured to accept a sidecar, and has been fitted with a decompression cable for starting.
It is accompanied by the original handbook, service history, various spare parts, a folder of MOT certificates, and several parts and maintenance invoices.
The paintwork is said to be in fair condition, with blemishes and minor stone chips on the mudguards and some time-earned ‘patina’ visible across the exterior fittings.
Its seat pad and the pillion are in good order.
Due to its age, the bike is exempt from mandatory MOT testing.
This is an impressive example of the BSA Sloper, which was originally supplied to the General Post Office in May 1930.
It would make a smart addition to any collection of two-wheeled machines, as well as a crowd-pleasing entrant at any classic bike rally or event. This matching-numbers Sloper has completed in the Ibbenbürener Motorrad-Veteranen-Rallye in Germany as well as five instances of the VMCC’s Banbury Run in the UK, earning two silver and two gold medals.
It has also been featured in The Motorbike Book.
