Description
1968 Series 2A fully worked on and converted to Electricity. Now powered by a NetGain Hyper9 motor with seven Tesla battery modules (37. 1kwh) giving a range of c. 85 miles. Charging capacity is 6. 6kw which takes c. 6. 5 hrs.
The DVLA inspected the vehicle in person at the end of last year and no changes have been made since. The V5 (noting the EV conversion and the replacement galvanised chassis) has been re-issued. It retains it's historic tax class. Although MOT exempt I did get it MOT'd last year after the works had been completed.
There is a huge list of works that have been done, with invoices to support. Please contact me for all the details. Electric conversion and re-build done by two well-established companies in West Sussex. Installer warranty still covering the EV components.
I chose to retain the original clutch (replaced) and gearbox (refurbished) so as to continue to have access to low range and 4WD. Day to day only 3rd gear is used for local drives, possibly 4th if going on faster roads. Re-gen braking.
Instant cabin heating now via electric blower module located where the fuel tank used to be. GPS / 5G tracker fitted. Electrics mainly housed in the base of the load bed.
(Included but not shown in the photos - one set of glazed door tops.)I embarked on this project as I wanted a Series which I could use day to day as a local run around and know that it would be reliable. It's certainly proved to be. I do a fair bit of trailer towing, for which is it brilliant as it can be very easily manoeuvred at low speed but with lots of power. I'm making plans to relocate abroad so sadly now looking to re-home.
