Description
The Jaguar XK 120 sports car was produced by Jaguar between 1948 and 1954. The 120 in Jaguar XK 120 referred to the speed the car could reach, namely 120 mph or 193 km per hour. This made the XK 120 the fastest production car in the world. The car was available in three versions: as a roadster (OTS, open two seater), as a drophead coupé (DHC), which was actually a more luxurious version of the OTS, and as a coupé (FHC, fixed head coupé). The XK120DHC was the rarest with only 1, 472 units of the total 10, 385 left-hand drive examples produced. This car was produced in February 1954 in Pastel Green with a Suede Green interior and was delivered new in 1954 to the first owner in Los Angeles, USA. The car came to the Netherlands in 2016 and was transformed into the ultimate driver’s car by carrying out a number of expensive, well-considered upgrades, modifications and innovations. The bodywork has been restored and completely repainted in Gunmetal Grey metallic. A new black soft top has been installed. The interior upholstery has been completely renewed (Dark Blue leather). This XK 120 (restomod) also has a range of technical improvements: reconditioned Jaguar 4. 2‑litre engine, completely renewed cooling system with electric cooling fan, five-speed gearbox, improved starter motor, 123 ignition (alternating current), dynamo, front disc brakes, modified suspension, 15-inch chrome wire wheels with 205/ 75 tyres, stainless steel exhaust system. To make the driver more comfortable, the seats have been replaced with bucket seats, which also creates more space in the car. Power-assisted steering with a Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel has been installed. All of this ensures that the car drives much better but is also safer to drive. No expense or effort has been spared to achieve and maintain a very high standard. This makes the XK a reliable and excellent car that, thanks to the modifications, drives superbly and meets modern standards to comfortably keep up with today’s traffic. The odometer shows 71, 000 km, but this is probably not correct and is not guaranteed.
