Description

FOR SALE by tender. Customs once valued the Hurricane at €1. 81 million. The listed price is not binding for the final sale.

Something truly special is up for sale here!

The historic Rolls-Royce Sport nicknamed "HURRICANE," with its 27-liter Merlin Rolls-Royce engine producing approximately 1, 000 hp and steeped in history! The construction of this historic Rolls-Royce Sport, from its initial appearance to its current state, took 20 to approximately 50 years, requiring an incredible 12, 000 to 14, 000 man-hours!

The result is an absolute historical masterpiece. The labor alone would be worth well over €3 million today.

The Rolls-Royce was last modified approximately 50 years ago (extensive photographic and press documentation available). Complete photographic documentation (engine, chassis, body, etc.) is available. It is therefore a true veteran, as the last conversion is demonstrably not just 30 years old, but approximately 50 years ago. It is not a recent conversion or a fake chassis; no, of course not. The Rolls-Royce dates back to 1930, and the engine is also a genuine Rolls-Royce engine/ power unit, thus perfectly matching its origins. It is even featured on the cover of a Rolls-Royce magazine about Merlin engines, aircraft, etc. It has therefore been granted road registration. It should also be eligible for road registration in Switzerland and the EU, as it is a historic vehicle, and various details can be found in the original vehicle registration document.

Something for connoisseurs and experts! Numerous press articles and other publications have been written about this exceptional Rolls-Royce Sport.

If you want a veteran car that isn't commonplace, then buy the most powerful and fastest veteran of all time. There is NOTHING that can compare to this Rolls Royce Sport with the Rolls Royce Merlin engine boasting a legendary 27-liter displacement and approximately 1000 hp. The top speed is estimated to be over 350 km/ h.

The maximum speed has never actually been reached... It drives exceptionally well and can even be driven very slowly through town in first gear. The noise level is reasonable, with a fantastic sound!

First gear goes up to 120 km/ h

Second gear goes up to approximately 220 km/ h

Third gear goes up to ???

All data is correctly listed in the vehicle registration document, including:

The Definition of a Superlative
There are motorcars, there are legends—and then there is the "HURRICANE." This vehicle is not merely a classic car; it is the physical manifestation of pure, unbridled power. To own this Rolls-Royce is to possess the most formidable chapter of British engineering ever placed on four wheels. It is quite simply the strongest and fastest veteran car in existence.
The Heart of a Warrior: 27 Liters of Displacement
At the center of this masterpiece reigns the engine that changed the course of history: The Rolls-Royce Merlin V12. With a staggering displacement of 27, 000 cc (27 Liters)—the equivalent of over twenty modern mid-sized cars—this aero-engine generates a gargantuan output of approximately 1, 000 HP. This is the very same engine type that powered the legendary Spitfire and Lancaster to aerial supremacy. Here, that kinetic energy has been harnessed into a road-legal 1930s chassis.
A Lifetime Achievement: 14, 000 Man-Hours
The creation of the "Hurricane" is an epic of precision. This vehicle has been refined, engineered, and perfected over a period of 50 years.
14, 000 Working Hours: If one were to calculate this labor at today’s master-craftsman rates, the handcrafted value alone would exceed €3 million.
Every line, every connection between the 1930 Rolls-Royce chassis and the Merlin powerplant is a testament to the highest level of engineering.
This is a historically grown unique specimen, with the conversion itself documented for half a century—a true veteran, not a modern recreation.
A New Dimension of Speed
The performance figures of the "Hurricane" shatter all expectations for a vehicle of its era:
1st Gear: Up to 120 km/ h (75 mph)—a range where most cars are already reaching their limit.
2nd Gear: Up to approx. 220 km/ h (137 mph)—pure, linear acceleration driven by the infinite torque of the Merlin V12.
3rd Gear: The limits remain untested. The theoretical top speed is estimated at over 350 km/ h (217 mph).
Despite these brutal specifications, the Rolls-Royce retains a surprising majesty. It can be driven with composure through city streets, though the thunderous acoustics of the 27-liter V12 will leave every bystander in a state of awe.
Worldwide Uniqueness & Provenance
The "Hurricane" is a celebrity in the world of high-end motoring. It has graced the cover of prestigious Rolls-Royce and Merlin publications. A seamless history, including extensive photographic documentation of the engine, chassis, and bodywork over decades, is present. The fact that such a "beast" holds a valid road registration makes it one of the most exclusive collector's items in the world.
An Investment of the Highest Order
The official valuation by customs at €1. 81 million is merely a benchmark for an object that is, in fact, irreplaceable. Buying the "Hurricane" means acquiring a piece of living history, a technical work of art, and the ultimate showstopper for any Concours d'Elegance or private museum.
This is the opportunity for connoisseurs who demand the absolute maximum. For those who find "ordinary" record-breaking cars insufficient, the Rolls-Royce Sport "Hurricane" is the final frontier of automotive construction.
