Description
The Humber was purchased from Haine & Son, Funeral Directors, Eastbourne in April 1985 and has been in my possession ever since - 41 years. It has service history with many receipts and bills for work carried out throughout my ownership and some previously. In 1991 the engine had a complete overhaul and a new gearbox fitted. The cylinder head was converted to unleaded petrol in 1999 with new valves and hardened valve seats. Recently, the front brakes have been overhauled with new calipers. The chrome is in very good condition and the interior is good with unmarked burr walnut instrument panel and door fillets. A small repair is required at the bottom of the near side front wheel arch where it joins the sill. The paintwork on the upper body above the waist line is original and the lower half sides have been repainted in the past. The car has always been garaged throughout its life. The vehicle is not concours but a handsome, smart example. A good home is required to continue the life of this car. My love of Humber cars stems from my father who had a fleet of Humber Pullmans for weddings and funerals. As a young man, I owned a Series III Hawk and a Series III Supersnipe, cars I thoroughly enjoyed driving. I bought the current Humber Hawk Series IVA in 1985 for pleasure use and fine weather - not an everyday car, so I've been able to take friends out for trips and also attend rallies. The Humber has always pleased me as it often gets admired wherever I go.
