Austin Healey Sprite MKIV, Registration OUD 155F ; Built October 1967; off road since 1982 with odometer reading 13, 160 miles, 1 documented owner; acquired 2010; back on road August 2012 after a 14k complete and fully documented restoration, painted Ecurrie Ecosse Blue and is complete with rare and sleek William & Pritchard hard top;
Engine completely rebuilt and upgraded to fast road spec, including new pistons, cam, porting, titan motorsport inlet manifold, HIF44 carburetor and big bore stainless exhaust.
Owned 16 years; driven 3000 miles - not used enough, reducing my collection.
A further 4k spent to finish and improve: Minilite wheels; MK1 dash; roll-bar; choice of 2 hardtops; soft top available, not fitted.
Recent work in 2024 includes: new Borg & Beck clutch; roller release clutch bearing (Alan Anstead) to replace carbon; all seals replaced in clutch master and slave cylinder; front dampers upgraded (MGB Hive); rear dampers upgraded to telescopic adjustable (Frontline); new alternator (Accuspark); cooling thermostat replaced; tappets adjusted, oil changed, coolant changed, brakes bled.
It looks great and is a blast to drive.
