1996 Subaru Impreza Gravel Express
For sale is my extremely rare Subaru Impreza Gravel Express. It is one of 400 ever made and 9 ever imported to the UK. The Gravel Express was a special edition made for the Japanese and Australian markets. It features the EJ20 turbo engine producing 220hp as standard, lifted suspension, front mounted bull bar and the rear mounted spare wheel. It was imported from Japan in 2005 to Ireland and then registered in the UK in 2011. Since 2011 it has had 5 owners with extensive maintenance being done since then.
The bodywork is in excellent condition for a 30 year old Japanese car. The rare two tone paintwork presents well with the original stickers fitted from factory. The underside is also in excellent condition due to being imported from Japan. However there is some bubbling starting to appear on the rear arches and the windscreen has a crack.
It has an indicated 121000 miles from new and has an extensive maintenance history with an estimated £10, 000 of receipts. The engine was fully rebuilt with STI parts (as shown in the photos) at 83, 000 miles at a cost of £6187. The gearbox was also converted to a 5 speed manual from an RB5 at this time and has been changed on the logbook. The MOT test is valid until 02/ 06/ 2026.
It has been fitted with BC Racing coilovers which are still in excellent condition but comes with the original suspension as well. There is also a genuine STI carbon fibre strut brace in the engine bay. The brakes have been upgraded to Brembo discs & calipers which are presumed to be from an STI.
The Interior presents well with upgraded Impreza seats and the original seats in the back. It still has the original Subaru radio which is working well. It has a rare Australian imported carpet dash cover so the dash has no fading or cracks.
This is a rare opportunity to buy a sought after car which is only going up in value each year. It is priced accordingly due to the age and condition.
