Where do i start 1953 gmc 100 short bed same as Chevy 3100 stepside truck, imported over 10 years ago from a sunny state (all paperwork to prove) then truck was stripped down and built for a daily driver but still retaining its original patina looks, still running its original frame but upgraded with a jaguar xj6 front Ifs so truck is drivable with its power steering disk brakes and coil spring suspension,
Rear axle was replaced with a Chevy s10 12 bolt high ratio from a 90s truck,
Power plant is the robust proven LR 300dti this was chosen for its simply mechanics economy and performance in a light truck, matted to the heavy duty version of the R380 2wd gearbox, (5speed) combined with the rear axle the truck is a real cruiser and will sit comfortably at 70mph all day long, which it’s what this truck was built for,
I know diesel isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but the sound and power is quite surprising and puts a smile on your face,
It wouldn’t take much to drop a 350sbc v8 engine in if petrol was your thing as all the hard chassis work is done,
