Cat S
Many people looking will move on when they see the Cat S car but if you’re looking for a lovely, genuine car with low miles and great history, both service and mot, read on.
I feel that my car was wrongly categorised, most probably from behind a desk and from pictures.
There was damage to the n/ s door and rear n/ s wing. It was repaired using genuine Mazda parts in one of the most professional body repairers in the country and was checked on a laser jig and found to be as straight as it left the factory.
I have pre repair, during and after pictures.
However, it’s still Cat S.
I have the full history of owners 3 female, 1 male and myself.
It has 10 services, 8 main dealer, 1 Mazda specialist and 1 independent that I choose to look after my other vehicles.

I’ve had some lovely cars over the years and have read so many articles on the MX-5 and thought I’d try one.
It’s beautifully balanced with real character and a great engine. It’s not super fast but it feels so well connected and comfortable.
HERE’S THE REALLY GOOD BIT
For those seriously looking at the MX-5 will know that they can be affected quite badly from rust.
I’m well retired and after owning and enjoying the car for just over a year I thought it might actually be my last car so decided to have it fully stripped and rustproofed including the cavities.
There are a number of specialists and I chose Anand Viad and I’m very happy with the result. It’s a £1. 75k investment.
So if you’re interested in a low mileage MX-5 with great history, a recent clear mot, new rear tyres, new rear discs and pads and fully rustproofed this might be for you.
I’m aware that Cat C cars will be less valuable but in a few year’s time it’ll still be worth decent money - that’s if you can bear to sell it.
For me-I’ve got a recent grandchild and I’m returning to 4 seats.
