Description
Recent MoT (March 2026) passed with no advisories or issues noted. Oil changed every year whilst in my ownership (6 years) during which time I've done around 4000 miles in the car. Gearbox serviced 2020, and overdrive replaced 2022. New tyres March 2026 prior to MoT. Carburettors refurbished 2022, rear brake drums and pads replaced 2023. This is one of the earliest MGB Roadsters, having a serial number GHN3L/ 4567, with original front wings (including panel stamp numbers too). It was manufactured 9/ 10 Jan 1963 and exported to USA the day after, where it spent approx 30 years before returning to the UK, probably hence the original panels. Heritage certificate shows matching details. Note that engine has been changed from 3 bearing to 5 bearing version in the past (before my ownership). Only driven in dry weather and garaged in dry garage. Paintwork is fairly good for age, but signs of micro-bubbles in paintwork present due to a respray to Old English White that was done (probably not in perfect conditions) Was originally 'Chelsea Grey' when built. I bought this car in 2019 from a classics dealer in Newbury, Berks having viewed several MGBs. This one was the oldest I'd looked at but immediately I was attracted to its early body shape and pull-handle doors. It has driven consistently well over the past 6 years with only one issue breakdown in that time, due to a faulty connection to the coil (fixed with new connector). It's a pretty rare example of an MGB Roadster, being one of the first produced and comes with soft top roof (original non-concertina type), tonneau cover and frame, wire wheels (racing type octagonal knock-on/ off hubs). Note that this car does not have seatbelts (as not legally required for a car from 1963).
