Description
I’m selling my 1963 MG B Roadster, finished in red, in good overall condition. This is one of the early models, fitted with the “Pull Handle” door handles.
I bought the car in the United States in 2011 before importing it into France in 2013. It’s now registered in France with a French “carte grise de collection” (historic vehicle registration). The odometer shows 93, 800 km and I’ve covered around 2, 000 km since I bought it.
Work carried out and maintenance:
2011:
- Refurbishment of the interior
- Replacement of locks, handles and switches
- New water pump
- Installation of seatbelts
- Fitting of an additional electric fan
2013: Major overhaul
- Replacement of the rear wheel cylinders and brake pads/ shoes
- Draining the gearbox and the differential
- Servicing the steering
- Bleeding the clutch hydraulic system
- Replacement of the dynamo with an alternator
2016: Major overhaul
- Fitting telescopic shock absorbers at the front
2022: Restoration of the wheels to their original colour using epoxy paint
The car starts on the first turn of the key, drives really well and gives genuine driving pleasure. It’s sold with its hood.
The gearbox has a slight synchronisation issue in 2nd gear. Changes from 1st to 2nd, then on to 3rd and 4th, are normal. However, when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, it’s best to double-declutch.
A lovely, healthy MG B that’s been looked after and is ready to enjoy some great drives. Please feel free to contact me for any further information or to arrange a viewing.
