Description
Offered for sale is a UK‑supplied 1975 Moto Guzzi 750‑S3. The bike is almost completely original and has covered a remarkable 2, 648 miles from new, with documentation to verify the mileage. The 750‑S3 is a very rare model, with only around 950 produced, and it is unlikely that many others exist with such low mileage in such original condition.
Although it is a 1975 model, it was first registered by the supplying dealer, A. Powell & Sons Ltd of Newport, on 09/ 03/ 1977. According to the original purchase invoice, it was sold to the previous owner on 15/ 04/ 1978 for £1, 270. 00. It remained in his ownership until i became the owner. As a result, the V5C records three previous owners, but in reality the bike has spent 48 years in single ownership.
It was prepared for long term storage, then spent most of it's life under a blanket indoors. After some light recommissioning, the bike starts easily, runs well, stops well, and all electrical equipment and instruments are in good working order. I would recommend set of new tyres before regular use, as I believe the current tyres are the original Michelins fitted at the factory. You may also notice that the indicators have been replaced with period correct genuine CEV units. The original indicators were removed by the previous owner, and they are currently disassembled but included with the bike.
Two original keys are included, still attached to the keyring from the supplying dealer.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing, feel free to give me a call. There is a folder containing some history, including the original registration documents, purchase invoice, dealer brochure with the English model information supplement, owner’s manual, and two MOT certificates. Both MOT tests were carried out by Gerald Shaw Motors Ltd of Huddersfield. The first was completed on 29/ 03/ 1980 at 1, 511 miles, and the second on 15/ 05/ 1982 at 2, 176 miles, suggesting the bike may have spent a year off the road in 1981.
