It is with some sadness that my Puma is now for sale. In terms of history I believe that an older lady from Lincolnshire owned the car for many years and garaged and cherished her. She was bought by Puma specialists Team Hadfield Motorsports who dry stored her for 8 years. She was then recommissioned to a high standard. The Puma enthusiast who I bought it from took it to the next level including an underbody paint finish.
Bodywork - This is a survivor car finished in Colorado red in great condition. There is no corrosion and the original paintwork is in great condition with no signs of paint fade. Previous owner had the underside professionally painted making it a real show car. The car has the older style fan blade alloys which are in great condition. Boot floor and rear seat back are mint and scratch free.
Interior - The interior is in mint condition with no sign of wear and maintaining that Ford smell. It has new old stock Puma mats which are only used for shows. It is a non aircon car and better for it as I understand that the aircon units were prone to leaking and causing corrosion. It comes with both tape cassette and CD head units.
Engine/ History - There is a stamped service history and the vehicle was serviced on the 22/ 4/ 26 with an advisory free MOT and brake fluid change. The engine is in great condition with no sign of oil use or leaks. The timing belt was replaced in 2025 for peace of mind. Superb engine that revs freely and is very responsive. This is the 1. 7 and the one to have. In the last couple of years it has had a new exhaust, spark plugs, discs and pads. Clutch replaced in 2024. The vehicle sits on Falken tyres with approximately 7mm of tread. I advise doing an MOT history check. History is impeccable. Recent battery showing 100% on health check as was Coolant.
Driving experience - This has got to be one of the best handling small coupes ever built. On a B road it is hard to beat. The steering is beautifully weighted and a little less assisted than modern cars which really helps. The gear box is sweet and precise. It was Top Gear car of the year for understandable reasons and I think its a 10k car all day long in a few years. There are very few left in this condition. I have garaged it and it is only used on dry days.
Private Plate - I am including the P31 UMA plate which has a value in excess of 2k when I have researched similar plates on relevant sites. It would be a shame to take the plate off as it really makes it a show car with kerb appeal.
Paperwork - Vehicle comes with the Ford Owners pack and stamped service book. There is a selection of service paperwork and I paid for a Carscheck history report which is included along with an original Sales brochure. Vehicle has two keys.
In conclusion a must for a Fast Ford collector and a great Investment ready for summer shows and country drives.
