Description
1975 Invacar – Road Legal, Excellent Condition – Rare Surviving Example
An exceptionally rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of British motoring and social history: a 1975 Invacar, presented in very good condition and, crucially, fully road legal.
Originally supplied under the UK Government invalid carriage scheme, Invacars were never sold to the public and almost all were withdrawn and destroyed in the early 2000s. As a result, very few authentic survivors remain today—particularly examples that are correctly registered and usable on modern roads.
This example is a standout. It is running well, in very good overall condition, and ready to be enjoyed. Unlike many surviving Invacars, which are incomplete or non-running, this one offers a rare chance to own a functional and presentable vehicle.
Key Points:
Road legal and registered in the UK
Running well and mechanically sound
Very good overall condition
Rare surviving example
Unique single-seat design with original controls
A true conversation piece and collector’s item
The car attracts attention everywhere it goes and represents a fascinating snapshot of British engineering and social history. Whether for shows, collections, or simply enjoyment, it is hard to imagine a more unusual or engaging classic.
Invacars have developed a strong following among collectors of microcars and historically significant vehicles, and values have been steadily increasing as surviving numbers continue to dwindle.
Summary:
A rare chance to acquire a usable, road-legal Invacar in very good condition. Opportunities like this are few and far between.
