Description
Hillman Minx Saloon mk7, 1954, Embassy Black with Tan interior, 1265cc side valve engine, 4 speed manual column change, 57, 000 miles. Starts, drives and stops, good gearbox, all electrics work, good chrome, nice original interior, solid body and underside. New spark plugs and recent oil change done. Some spares. Totally original throughout, tax and ULEZ exempt. Engine needs attention, otherwise nice example, worthwhile project, hence £2750 ono. Rare early Hillman Minx Mk7, very original features. Body and underside are solid. Starts, drives and stops. Gearbox and Column change all work well. All electrics are working. Interior is all there and presentable. Chrome work is also presentable. Comes with a spare front and rear windscreen and was previously in the Hillman Owners Club at some point.
However, on the negative, the 1265cc side valve engine does need attention, possibly could do with an overhaul? Though it starts and drives, it's rather tired. Also, water pump is leaking it's coolant and would need replacing or repair. Would be a good idea to replace the side valve engine with a later OHV unit.
Overall, this Minx is nice and original, would be a very worthwhile project for someone....
