Registered as an historic vehicleI aquired this bike in an exchange deal. The seller wanted a vintage Raleigh that I was seling and I took this Enfield in exchange.
The Enfield had the wrong handlebars fitted so they were changed for the correct ones and whilst the bars were off, I replaced the headstock bearings and races.
The bike had an incorrct carburettor fitted, but the original was supplied as part of the deal. The original carb was refurbished by 'Joe the Carb' and refitted along with new cables.
With the original carb fitted the engine started easily, although the hand crank handle did wrench my wrist when I had the timing too advanced... the new owner will need to learn where the bike likes the levers to be set :)
