Description
A very useable example of a Lea-Francis 14hp saloon with charming patina. I got this as a non-runner and have brought back to life by unsticking the starter and reverting to the original points and condenser instead of the electronic system that was on it, and will go with the car should you wish to change it back. Since then it has been in regular use, including for my 40-mile round trip commute on a few occasions. It is now going very well, easily keeping up with modern traffic and cruising happily at 55-60mph. It's a lovely car to drive, with accurate, easy steering and a very comfortable ride - modern bone-shakers could learn a thing or two!
The car is fundamentally sound but does exhibit plenty of patina - I wouldn't call it a full-on oily-rag car, but there are scratches and bits of non-matching paint here and there. It does look excellent from a few feet away though, and the engine bay is really rather gleaming. The interior is nice, with mostly original leather on the seats.
It has recently had a full service with fresh oil and coolant and has nearly-new tyres. It has also been a minor TV star in the past, featuring on one of Henry Cole's programmes with Fuzz Townsend.
