Description
One of the most beautiful motorcycles ever made, this ZXR was rebuilt in 2021 with a ZX9r B engine which gives it a considerable power increase over the original 750 motor. During the restoration, the bike was given the following (all receipted):
Fully repainted green, white and blue bodywork
Painted frame and swingarm
New Oberon clutch
Front and back brake calipers completely refurbished by Powerhouse
New Nitron rear sports shock
Forks refurbished with new YSS fork springs by Brooks suspension. Fork legs rechromed and fork lowers powder coated
Custom seat with comfort gel
New head bearings
Adjustable TR Racespares rearsets
+4 degree ignition advancer
Carbon fibre front mudguard
Carbon fibre rear hugger
Domino grips
I also have receipts for earlier work including:
Front and rear Venhill braided brake hoses
Slinky Glide choke and throttle cables
Odyssey PC310 battery
In 2023, the ZXR was dynoed by Steve Jordan motorcycles. The carbs were adjusted and balanced, and the suspension was adjusted. Dyno charts show the engine gives out 115 bhp at the rear wheel which is a considerable increase on the 90 to 95 bhp produced by the standard engine.
The bike has just been mot’d with no advisories (MOT due 11/ 05/ 27). It also has a brand new Pirelli Diablo Rosso front tyre.
The V5 is in my name and the engine details have been updated to show the new ZX9R engine. I also have an inspection certificate from South Downs motorcycles to show that the engine has been ‘installed to a satisfactory standard’.
I have owned the bike since September 2012, and have had considerable fun on it, including a recent track day at Cadwell Park. It’s been a reliable, fun, exciting machine to ride, and it’s a work of art to look at.
There are a very few minor scratches and cracks as you would expect on a bike of this age, but it’s still a beauty. It’s got a full titanium Muzzy exhaust and the end can has seen better days, but it polishes up nicely. The ZXR750 is one of the most beautiful bikes ever created. It gets plenty of attention wherever it goes, and you don’t see many of these on the roads these days. The Kawasaki ZXR750 is one of those rare bikes that perfectly captures the spirit of 1990s superbikes — raw, aggressive, noisy, and full of character. What makes it so special is the way it combines razor-sharp handling with an engine that feels alive at every rev, rewarding riders who really commit to it. Unlike many modern bikes that do everything effortlessly, the ZXR750 demands involvement, and that’s exactly why I love it. From the distinctive ram-air intake hoses and race-inspired styling to the unmistakable howl of the inline-four engine, it feels like a genuine road-going race bike from the golden era of superbikes. It’s a real head turner and delivers an unforgettable riding experience, and reminds riders why analogue sports bikes like this have such a loyal following.
