Offered for sale is my genuine factory-built Intermeccanica Porsche 356 Roadster, built in the early 1980s and UK registered.
Intermeccanica cars are widely regarded as among the finest and most faithful Porsche 356 recreations ever produced, with beautifully proportioned coachwork, excellent build quality, and a driving experience that captures the spirit of the original 356 remarkably well. Factory-built examples are increasingly collectible and rarely become available in the UK.
This is not a home-built replica or kit conversion, but an authentic Intermeccanica-built car constructed on a Volkswagen floor pan using proven air-cooled VW mechanicals for reliability and ease of maintenance.
The car presents as an attractive and highly usable classic, with the charm and presence of a genuine 356 Roadster at a fraction of the cost of an original Porsche. It always attracts attention and admiration wherever it goes.

Condition
The car runs and drives well and is mechanically strong. There is asmall scratch in the paintwork and some age related bubbling, but this just adds to the charater of the car (see images) as a usuable classic. These minor imperfections are reflected in the asking price, but overall the car remains a very presentable and enjoyable usable classic.
Importantly, the car retains the quality feel and detailing for which Intermeccanica cars are respected among Porsche and air-cooled enthusiasts alike.
History
Factory-built Intermeccanicas are now considerably rarer than many later 356 replicas and are increasingly recognised as some of the best recreations ever produced. Early examples such as this seldom appear on the UK market.

A rare opportunity to acquire a genuine Intermeccanica 356 Roadster with huge character, strong provenance, and excellent potential. Imported from San Diego in 2012 and used lovingly since. This is a real head turner, almost impossible to tell from the original with all period correct markings and badges including the extermely rare Drauz badge. There is a modern stereo with USB installed. This care is as good as a faithful replica gets, and you will not find another Intermeccanica for sale in the UK.
