Description
Regrettably for sale is my Mk. 3 (NC), Mazda MX-5. This car has been my passsion project for the past 2 years, attending JDM shows with me around the country. As such, she has been meticulously cared for during that time. I will be as honest as I can about the car's condition but overall, you will find it to be one of the cleanest NC examples available.
Exterior:
The car is finished in 'True Red', with the condition off the paint being great. I spent many weekends detailing the car with my dad, and so it remained protected and covered in a garage for all of it's life with me. The bonnet however has begun to have some paint flake which exposes the clearcote underneath. That being said, this is barely noticeable from most angles.
Interior:
The interior is imaculate overall. Creases in the leather seats due to age and wear but overall, all buttons and switches work as they should.
Mechanicals:
The car last had it's service around a year ago from now, where it had the usual plugs, fluid changes and an oil change. As well as an inspection on all the belts. I also replaced the breaks and pads all around at this time, which still have plenty of life in them. The soft-top roof is in great condition. With there being no holes or leaks anywhere. The engine also ticks over beautifully, with no hints at any wear or issues.
Rust:
Often a key point to be wary off with MX-5's in general. Upon coming to me, you will see reflected in the MOT report that the inner sills had failed due to rust almost impacting the sub-frame of the car. For this I took her to a specialist in my village who stripped back the sill, covered the inner sills in cavity wax, re-sealed them with a seamlessly welded panel - along with a coat of oil-wax on top. While not a permenant cure, this will guarentee many years before this needs to be re-visited. Either for a cheaper top-up or for a complete re-build at your discression. Other than this, the car is very clean in all other areas.
Modifications:
I modified the car in what I would consider at 'tasteful' way. I wanted to keep true to the original design but, to give it an 'OEM+' feel. The price DOES NOT include the BBS RG262 wheels shown in the pictures but instead, I have all of the original parts which can be included.
- Bilstein non-adjusable Coilover Suspension Kit - Perfected the handling in my opinion and elimited the 'bouncy front' that these can have.
- Ducktail Lip Spoiler - Purely aesthetic preferance.
- BBS RG262 17' Wheels - Can be included but, will need to be paid for in addition.
- Powerflow Backbox Exhaust - Mounted straight to the original mid-pipe, gives an amazing low growl but, without any drone or crazy amount off volume. (Your neighbours won't hate you).
Summary:
As you can tell, I have poured a lot of passion and enthusiasm into this car. Being my second car, it has stayed in a garage and covered barely any miles due to me babying it a little too much. My career and life circumstances have changed however, and now I require something more practical but, that still had the JDM feeling. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to reach out to me. I would be more than happy talking about the car, just so that I can ensure it is going to a good home.
Thanks,
Nathan.
