The first Corvette was introduced to the world in 1953. Over the years, it evolved from a car with covered headlights, a 3. 9-litre inline-six engine and a two-speed automatic transmission into the iconic sports car with exposed round headlights and, from 1958 onward, the distinctive four-headlight front design. Created by GM’s design team under the leadership of Harley Earl, the Corvette became a legend, featuring a lightweight fiberglass body. By the end of C1 production in 1962, a total of 69, 015 examples had been built, with the highest production numbers achieved in the final year. Power came from a 4. 6-litre V8 equipped with either a four-barrel carburetor or fuel injection. Models produced from 1960 to 1962 received a redesigned rear end that previewed styling cues later seen on the C2 Sting Ray.
Now to the car itself. This beautiful 1960 Corvette C1, finished in an attractive two-tone colour combination, offers several significant advantages. Approximately seven years ago it underwent a comprehensive, high-quality restoration and today presents in outstanding condition. Its timeless lines and charming period details make it a true automotive icon.
Unlike many examples fitted with an automatic transmission, this Corvette features the desirable 3-speed manual gearbox, adding authenticity and involvement to the driving experience. Under the hood is the legendary 4. 6-litre (283 cu in) small-block V8 producing 233 hp and 407 Nm of torque.
We have personally tested the vehicle and can confidently confirm that both the engine and transmission perform exceptionally well. This is a genuinely beautiful example of the first-generation Corvette, fully functional and ready to be enjoyed. Simply register it, fill up the tank, and head out for a sunny drive.
