Here I’m offering for sale my BMW R90 1975
I bought this bike about a year ago and have done about 4000 miles on it.
It is quite a special BMW with a rebuild a couple of years ago by the previous owner who did many modifications and upgrades. Previous owner bought the bike in 2006
Matching frame & engine numbers.
The following is work done by the previous owner. The bike has done about 30k since rebuild and 8000 miles since the 1000cc conversion and head work.
The engine and gearbox were given a full rebuild by Jim Cray, a renowned airhead specialist.
The spec includes lightened flywheel, balanced crank, twin plug rebuild heads and a Moteren Israel 320 degree camshaft. The bike was later fitted with Siebenrock 1000cc kit adapted by Skrunkwerks in Melbourne to give a higher compression ratio and a proper squish band.
The ignition is by Trispark and twin Dyna coils.
The braking is ensured by fitting a 13mm diameter brake master cylinder and EBC semi floating discs.
Suspension is by Maxton with their rear shocks and fork inserts. Forks also have a tubular fork brace and alloy yokes.
Silencers and down pipes are by Keihan
The speedo and rev counter console is fitted with a Katdash replacement insert.
The alternator and diode board have been replaced with a modern 450w version.
The lights are LED and remarkably bright.
Paintwork is by Dream machine.
It has a single seat fitted with racks optimised for soft luggage. (Dual seat available)
Comes with a thick lever file containing old mot’s various instructions and receipts for work carried out.

Recent work carried out is new steering head bearings and new return spring and pawl springs in the gearbox as one broke also a new clutch friction plate.
The condition of the bike is excellent, very reliable, handles very well and performance is great. It is a 50 year old bike, historic vehicle so tax and mot exempt.
The BMW wants for nothing, it is ready to ride.
