Description
This 2002 Discovery GS TD5 pre facelift is in great condition and it has been very well looked after. The engine is the later 15p variant which has proven to be more desirable over the years. It starts up in half a turn and never seems to complain, at the start of this year I replaced the injector harness with an OEM version to prevent the common oil leaking issues. The engine seems to pull its weight well and it has plenty of power, it is all original in that department however there is some documentation regarding a remap which was done a while back. the clutch feels good to use as it was replaced at 95000 miles. The gearbox feels good to use with no horrible crunches or whining and the same can be said for the rest of the driveline, the transfer box works how it should and the driveshafts appear to be tight with no excessive play. the brakes had been serviced recently and they seem to have plenty of life left in them they feel good to use and I haven't had any issues with the common three amigos issue. I recently had the tyres replaced with some All terrains which have proven to be great on and off the road these are 4000 miles new and there's no uneven tyre wear. this car came factory fitted without the commonly faulty ACE system which eleviates some headache. it has air suspension in the rear which is fully functional and it doesn't leak plus this car has cruise control which is great for long trips. overall it drives great with no horrible knocks or bangs. the body is in good condition and only has a few dings, the paintwork is in good condition with some light bush-wacking scratches but nothing that wouldn't polish out. there is some corrosion in the lower sills mainly at the right rear section and I have replaced all of the mudgaurd brackets with some brand new versions to remove the old rusty ones. the chasis has some corrosion as is expected however none that would cause too much concern. in the mot history there was a lower radiator bracket that has been noted as corroded, this has since been replaced with a brand new one. during its most recent service all of the fluids looked super healthy and clean and there was no horrible build up of metal on the various magnets. almost every single feature of this car works exactly as it should besides the AC I would assume that it needs a re-gas. the interior of this car is very well kept and shows only minor signs of use, I replaced the headliner myself earlier this year and resealed the sunroof to prevent the common leaking issues and I am pleased to say that there are no leaks at all.
this car come with some extras to include the Oex roof tent and land rover roof rack ( a £1000 combo) as well as a nanocom code scanner which is the best scanner for these discoveries. there will be some high quality land rover seat covers and rubber mats included as well as a tow bar. it clear from its extensive service history that it has been very well looked after, to clarify this the original service booklet was full so a replacement one was bought to keep up. the previous owner was a lorry driver and he clearly knew the importance of proper and regular maintenance. I bought the car last November in Liverpool and I have just returned from a 4000 mile Roadtrip across 9 countries in Europe without a single issue however i want to sell this car in order to gain some funds for feeding my passion for older cars.
if you have any questions about the car or would like to see anything in particular that I haven't shown then feel free to send me a message :)
