Description
For sale is my 2003 W220 S600 LWB. The car is in Obsidian Black with black leather interior. 96, 500 miles. MOT till March. The car has returned to the market after having some repairs carried. I have owned this car for over 2 yrs and it has been a journey bringing it back to very good working order. Extensive work has been carried out and at great expense. A quick list of the parts replaced in my ownership. ABC struts all roundABC hoses including the front 'killer' hoseRadiator + electric fanVoltage transformerSpark plugs (requires 24!)Gearbox conductor plate + Metal gear selector lever (car stuck in gear)Most recent (June 26) front engine and gearbox mounts. £1, 400 (I have the receipt). Sunroof replaced. Now working perfectly. The tray was rusted through. I replaced this myself. If the sunroof does not work factor in at least £1k for a garage to repair it. It has been serviced regularly and is now running the best it ever has. All the big cost items have been replaced and I have receipts for all the work. It had a health assessment by Mercedes Benz South Bromley in May 26. Recommended engine mounts, inner track rods and ABC pump (as it was noisy). The front engine mounts has cured the noisy pump. Apparently some ABC pipes were sitting on the frame due to the collapsed mounts and making the vibrations. The inner tie rods have minor movement and not recommended changing by my MB specialist. The ABC pump has a healthy 194 bar of pressure. The car has two working keys (rear these days). The recent work was carried out by the good guys a SS Motors in Weybridge and can be verified. These S Class Mercedes are not loved, but if you live with a good one you will come to realise that these are very good cars. The V12 has effortless power, it is very smooth and fast if you want. All the electrics work, roof (which I fixed) windows, dynamic seats, rear electric seats, blind and headrests, soft close, including the boot. Picnic tables that stay up. This car is now a joy to drive and in some ways will be sad to sell it. However, I have recently purchased an 2004 S600 and have a S55. I have learnt a lot about these cars over the years. This being the facelift, there are not that many about, especially in this condition with the work carried out. These cars are not cheap to run and from experience any one that is for sale for around £4k will need an additional £4k to get it right. Hopefully this one should just require routine servicing for a good while. What about the bad bits. Stone chips on the bonnet and a 4 inch crease on the rear lower offside door. It is minor. These cars are becoming rear now. If you want something different. It is in the desirable Obsidian black. I know these cars very well now, so any questions please call. Thanks for reading this far.
