Description

I have owned this car for 9 or 10 years. In that time it has been modified in many different ways. Due to it having had different engines and speedos for a few reasons the mileage may not be correct. The car underwent some recommissioning between when i bought it and when i put it back on the road i 2019. Its has not had a professional restoration but been brought back to a road worthy standard. In putting the car back on the road it has had outer sills, drivers side rear quarter panel, scuttle panel, rear valance and closing panels and both door skins replaced. I fitted a fiberglass front and bonnet on the car which hinges to the front. On the inside of the car, the original speedo didn't work, so i replaced it with a used item. The rear seat and door trim panels are from an 80s/ 90s car and has some cobra bucket saats in the front. I fitted a new black headlining in 2019. I decided after the pandemic to fit a 1. 6 Vauxhall engine to the car and to use the car for some drag racing. i have since removed the engine and refitted an A series engine. I upgraded the brakes to a 7. 5 inch disc brake on the front and matching spaced drums on the rear. It is a still a single line brake system. The brake and clutch master cylinders were new in 2019 along with all of the suspension bushed etc. The car is fitted with gaz adjustable shocks and hi-low ride height adjusters. The 998 engine is standard with an A+ head having hardened valve seats on the exhaust valves and it has a K&N air filter fitted. The wheels are a 10x5 mini lite style wheel fitted with Yokohama tyres, the tyres were purchased brand new from the British Mini club Bingley hall show in January 2026. I had to buy my own Tyre machine and balancer to fit 10 inch tyres (available by negotiation)The front end is fiberglass, originally two piece but i decided to bolt the two pieces together and make them one piece with hinges to the lower front allowing it to open forwards. The car overall presents well for a 70s mini but the body work and paint are far from show winning. It is painted in Pageant blue cellulose which doesn't like the sunshine and will oxidize quickly. It will be a shame to see this car go but i have another project to fund so needs must. Any questions please ask.
