Description
AUSTIN HEALEY SPRITE MK1 « FROG EYE » 1958I brought this “Frog Eye” back from England in 2004. My wife absolutely loved this car and had wanted one for a long time. I chose this model because the previous owner had carried out some interesting modifications; the Midget 1300 engine, gearbox and final drive, and above all front disc brakes. As a result, the car is a bit more lively than it was with the original 948cc unit, and—most importantly—far safer in terms of braking. Later on, I carried out further work on the car with an “Anglo Parts” kit, including telescopic dampers at the front, a complete retrim of the upholstery, replacing a gearbox sprocket, reconditioning the radiator, etc…For all these years, maintenance has been carried out very regularly. The car is also fitted with wire wheels, but I also have the original steel wheels with their knock-off centre trims, rare parts, which will be included in the sale. The hood is in perfect condition, as are the removable side windows. There is also a tonneau cover in good condition and a made-to-measure storage cover in jersey. Everything is working perfectly and a complete service, with fluid changes, is currently under way (invoice). I also have many invoices, both from the previous owner and from my own work. In the historic paperwork, I have the original new order form signed by Donald Healey, as well as the British Motor Heritage Trust entry no. 98/ 9815. It’s with regret that I’m selling this car due to my wife’s health, and we will have owned it for 22 years. Available to view for a test drive in Anse, Lyon suburb (69480)
