Description
I have for sale my R53 Cooper S. Before myself the car was owned by a couple for 15 years and has service history within the logbook. I bought the car originally from their friend who was in ownership briefly between us. The car has an MOT till September. Most recent service was carried out by myself, I have also replaced the clutch as the throwout bearing was rattling when I purchased it. I used a LUK kit for this. (106k miles). I also fitted a new steering knuckle and drive shaft to the car. As the CV joints were away on that side and the bolt threads for the ball joints were stretched inside the knuckle. I have also restored and protected the sub frame when I had it off. The car drives very well and is probably the most fun car I’ve owned in a long time. A few points: there is a dent in the scoop where I think someone has pushed down on the bonnet. There is also a bit of yellow paint on the bumper where I believe the previous owner has scrubbed across something yellow. Rust starting on the boot and rear light surround - the rest of the car is quite clear. There’s the odd little mark on the paint here and there from how old the car is. Interior has some age related marks too. The diff is the original clutch type LSD and can be quite noisy on full lock. I spoke to a mini specialist who informed me that this is quite common on these but isn’t really an issue. I wasn’t wanting to sell the car but we have a baby on the way so I need to get something a bit more sensible. The supercharger whine along with the cars handling makes it one of the most fun cars to drive.
