Description
Ive owned this 1951 TR5 replica for over 3 years, built as a homage to 3 examples supplied to the Swedish army for evalutaion in 1953. It came cosmeticaly as it is today, but needed a huge amount of work and money to sort it out. Its still being run in as the replica speedo fitted, tells the speed acurately but measures distance at 50% , so the reading of 150 , is actually 300. I used it for the first time at this years pre 65 and it was incredable fun. It handles and brakes well, sounds lovely and an easy starter, hower its a rigid, one I already have, so she's for sale. So work done , forks rebuilt, new Villers brake linings, clutch rebuilt with new plates and correct springs, gearbox is fine. The original TR5 engine had to be removed and the botton end could be supplied with the bike as it matches the v5, but it need new cams. The motor currently fitted is a refurbished 48 5t bottom end, totally rbuilt by Grin, RIP. Its a small bearing std crank fitted with new shelled rods, so on its first regrind. The barrels are plus 20 , I think, with new pistons, heads had new guides and valves, some threads helicioled and all good. Mag is a recon unit from Goeff, exhaust, new from Aromours. The wheels are quality chrome with stainless spokes and Hiendou tyres, which really suit the bike and grip well. Carb is new 626, frame powder coated. Nice paint. Its running a 21 tooth carnk sprocket and geared up 1 tooth on the gearbox, to give more relaxed touring. The bulbs are all 6v and LED, the dynamo seems to charge , but does not register as such on the ameter. She's a lovely bike on the eye and to ride, very light and nimble , with a low seat height and very easy to manage. I have spent much much more than the asking price, but the market is what it is, any questions please ask. I can , if required arrange a courier.
Light , nimble and fun
