We are pleased to offer this 1991 Toyota MR2 SW20 2. 0 Automatic.
This is an early Rev 1 example of the second-generation MR2, finished in red and powered by the 2. 0-litre 3S-FE 16-valve mid-mounted engine, producing approximately 130 bhp. The engine is paired with an automatic gearbox with overdrive. The odometer currently shows 98, 793 miles.
The car was imported from the UK to Germany in November 2025 and comes with UK V5C registration documents as well as German customs clearance documentation. The import duties have already been handled, so no further customs costs should arise in this respect for the buyer.
Please note: the car is currently offered with UK registration / V5C documents. A German TÜV/ MOT inspection, individual approval, historic registration and German registration are not included in the asking price.
The headlights have already been converted for use on the right-hand side of the road. A copy of a German registration document for a similar Toyota MR2 SW20 is also included as a possible data basis for a future TÜV inspection. According to the information available to us, the car was with its last owner for a long period of time and has been maintained with service history. The last service-book entry is recorded at 63, 111 miles.
The car is largely original and unmodified, apart from a tubular exhaust manifold. Equipment includes the original Toyota sports steering wheel, original cloth sports seats, Toyota rear spoiler, electric windows, electrically adjustable mirrors, original Toyota 15-inch alloy wheels, glass sunroof and Toyota radio/ cassette.
The bodywork and paint are an important part of the honest description. The car has been repainted in the past, which is not unusual for a red car of this age. The paint presents reasonably overall, but shows age- and repaint-related imperfections, including small white bubbles in the clear coat and areas of light lacquer peel, as shown in the photographs.
There is also unrepaired body damage on the right-hand side. The rear quarter panel is dented in the area near the door edge, and the sill area shows a visible deformation. The right-hand door has previously been replaced. These points are clearly documented in the photo gallery and should be taken into account when assessing the vehicle.
The interior presents as original and largely unmodified, with seats, steering wheel, door cards, carpets and controls corresponding to the early SW20 specification. Age-related signs of use are present, but the cabin has a generally honest and original appearance.
The car starts, runs and drives. During our assessment, the engine and automatic gearbox made a calm and orderly impression, and a 4K on-board video is available on our website to give a better impression of the car in use. A complete technical dismantling or inspection of hidden body, chassis or mechanical areas has not been carried out.
Due to the missing German TÜV inspection and the body damage described above, the car should be regarded as a usable project rather than a fully prepared, German-registered example. Further work, inspection and approval will be required depending on the buyer’s country and intended use.
