Description

This beautiful 1972 Citroën D Spécial is a matching numbers example that has been tastefully upgraded with numerous genuine Pallas components while preserving the character of the original D Spécial.

Finished in elegant Anjou Green with a new tobacco leather interior, the car presents beautifully and offers one of the most distinctive driving experiences ever created.

The legendary hydropneumatic suspension, the unique single-spoke steering wheel and the unmistakable styling make every journey something special. When the hydraulic system raises the car after start-up, it feels more like preparing an aircraft for departure than simply starting a car.

This DS attracts attention everywhere it goes. People of all ages stop to admire it, ask questions and take photographs. It is a car that creates conversations wherever it appears.

Mechanically, significant work has already been completed, with documentation and invoices available for almost all major repairs and upgrades.

The car is not presented as a concours restoration, but as a very honest, well-maintained and highly usable classic with enormous charm and character.

This 1972 Citroën D Spécial is a matching numbers car that has been carefully improved over the years while respecting its original character.

Originally finished in white, the car was professionally repainted in its current Anjou Green colour in 2020. During the restoration it received a new tobacco leather interior, new carpets and new door panels. It has also been upgraded with a large number of genuine Pallas components, including the interior, rear lights, exterior trim, horn and wheel covers, giving the car the elegant appearance of a Pallas while remaining a genuine D Spécial.

Over the last few years, considerable mechanical work has been carried out, including a new clutch, timing chain, hydraulic pump, front brakes, alternator, 123 Ignition electronic distributor, rear suspension bellows and rear wheel bearing. The rear body panel was also replaced in 2021.

Almost all work is documented with invoices and receipts, providing an excellent record of the investment made in the car.

The vehicle is honestly presented. It is not a concours restoration, but a very solid and usable classic that has benefited from extensive maintenance while still offering the next owner the opportunity to complete a few remaining cosmetic details.

The sale includes a rust-repaired replacement rear door ready for paint, matching interior parts and a complete set of Pallas trim that has not yet been installed.

This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a well-documented, matching numbers Citroën D Spécial with extensive genuine Pallas upgrades and a unique presence on the road.
