Description
A classic 1969 MGB Roadster in ‘British Racing Green’ with a black interior, cream vinyl hood with green piping and benefiting from an ‘Overdrive’ gearbox. Completely restored in the nineties (at a cost then of over £4, 500), it received new wings, sills, castle rails, floor pans, rear panels and valence. The engine was fully rebuilt, with new pistons, re-ground crankshaft, new bearings, camshaft, cylinder head overhaul, new oil pump, timing chain and a skimmed flywheel. The MGB changed owners in 2007 and did limited miles until 2013 when family illness stopped it being driven. During that time various cosmetic upgrades were made including a new hood, new carpets, boot carpets, reclining seats and a Moto-Lita leather steering wheel. Mechanically it benefitted from a new brake servo, rear brake cylinders, brake and clutch master cylinders, brake hoses, fuel pump and numerous smaller components. It was then carefully dry-stored with the engine run periodically. The bodywork is very solid, the paintwork does show some minor age-related imperfections, the underside is in very good condition thanks to the wax-oil treatment during restoration and all the chrome is like new and the interior is also very impressive. Last year the MGB was brought back-to-life, serviced and recommissioned with the following new parts; battery, starter motor, fuel tank, radiator and hoses, oil cooler with braided stainless pipes, pancake air filters and 4 new Blockley ‘Classic’ tyres. MOT and Tax exempt, the MGB has a history file containing numerous invoices and information (KAR 944G registration plate included).
