Description
Sadly, my wife can no longer get in the car as waiting for knee replacement, hence sale. The car is a 1968 MK2 which we have owned for 15 years. Only 4 previous keepers. Many items have been addressed in order to maintain the car in top condition. The OEW bodywork is rust free and unblemished. All chrome work is as new. A new screen to scuttle rubber has been fitted. The interior is immaculate and kept to original specification, with no extra dials or switches. Refurbished dashboard and leather seats. It even has the original steering wheel. Mechanically she wants for nothing. Recent work includes engine removal to replace all seals, including crank oil seal. New clutch and water pump. Brand new SU carbs and high performance distributor. Rebuilt diff and axle work. 12V battery. Full stainless exhaust. Full service last year. Pack away hood and tonneau both excellent. The car runs perfectly, with smooth overdrive. New poly bushes and copper pipes. Four virtually new Continental 185|70 tyres. Correct mileage is a mystery. The original speedo, which I have kept, was found to be unserviceable, showing 24577 miles, and was replaced with a used unit showing around 98000. I would guess the actual true mileage to be around 60000. The underside is solid. Although exempt, the car sailed through the MOT yesterday, July 24th, with no advisories, so peace of mind for a buyer. We’ve always been MG fans, and part of the MG Owners Club and Sadcase Club. We have had many MG’s over the years and both thoroughly enjoyed them, but sadly age, and now medical issues have caught up with us, and realistically we are no longer able to enjoy them.
