Description
For sale is my Calypso Red 520i Manual Touring. Really gutted to be saying farewell to this car as its been faultless in my ownership and has taken me across Europe! My family and I are relocating to the Netherlands though so I would rather see it go to a new owner than sit unused. The car is a factory manual with double sunroof, I've always run it on 98+ octane fuel and even on a run, fully loaded it will return 35mpg making it the perfect retro daily. Engine sounds amazing and the manual gearbox makes it more engaging. Interior is grey cloth with no tears or rips in the seats, presents really well. Work done in my ownership:Full Service back in April including spark plugs. New rear shocks, springs, top mounts and dust covers in April. Dog bone arms done on the rear. Replacement wiring harness section for tailgate (very common issue on these)Cam cover gasket doneNew tailgate strutsNew front brake pads in Feb New lower rear arm on the frontAs it's a 33 year old car it isn't perfect, bad bits:Sunroof seals and doesn't leak but doesn't fully retract, it only does the initial tilt and then stops. Scratch on the rear of the roof about 2 inches long. Scratch on the driver's side of the bonnet, has been touched in. Small rattle from the front end at low speed on poor road quality. I have replacement front struts, shocks, springs, dust covers, top mounts, lower arms and drop links. Basically had planned to do a front end rebuild but just haven't had the time as I've been in the NL with the car for the last two months. Previous owner touched in some rust bubbling along the bottom of the doors with red oxide primer, haven't gotten round to sorting this. The car can come with the original BMW roof bars if the purchaser is interested, if not I will sell these separately. Full service history with the car, I am the 3rd owner with the original owner having the car for 25 years. MOT until Mar '27The car had a replacement odometer at 92k miles with BMW, I have paperwork for this, so the car shows 53k miles. Total mileage covered is 145, 000. I will be driving the car back to the UK on Sunday 2nd August and so viewings can happen from then onwards. Car is based in Worcester. I will upload some better photos in the next few days. Any questions feel free to ask.
