Description
Registered WED 94S and showing just under 53, 000 miles, this right-hand-drive 1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of Crewe’s most elegant long-wheelbase luxury saloons. Produced between 1977 and 1980, the Silver Wraith II was the long-wheelbase successor to the Silver Shadow II, offering increased rear passenger accommodation and the refinement expected of a Rolls-Royce. Just 2, 136 examples were manufactured, many for North America, making genuine right-hand-drive examples increasingly difficult to find. The car has been in its current ownership for approximately ten years, during which time it has been kept in dry storage. The indicated mileage of just under 53, 000 miles is believed to be genuine and is supported by MOT history dating back to 2006, together with original MOT certificates and accompanying documentation. Finished in White with a Dark Blue Everflex roof and Beige Connolly leather interior, the car was previously used as a wedding vehicle and has been repainted during its life. The Everflex roof also appears to have been refinished previously. While there are age-related marks and imperfections, the car presents well overall and appears remarkably complete. The interior is a particular highlight, with the original Connolly leather upholstery, walnut veneers and carpets all remaining in very good condition for their age. The additional rear passenger space gives the Silver Wraith II a particularly impressive and luxurious cabin. The renowned 6. 75-litre Rolls-Royce V8 starts readily from cold without visible smoke, running smoothly and idling quietly. However, the car is not currently roadworthy and should be considered a genuine recommissioning project. A fault affecting the automatic transmission or selector mechanism currently prevents the car from being driven. It has been manually placed into Neutral so that it can be manoeuvred and loaded for transport. The precise cause has not been diagnosed and further investigation will be required. Following approximately ten years in storage, the braking system, Rolls-Royce hydraulic systems and other age-related mechanical components should be inspected and recommissioned as necessary before the car is returned to the road. Included with the vehicle:* Original Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II handbook pack* Comprehensive history file containing invoices and supporting documentation* Approximately £2, 000 of invoices from the current ownership* A number of original MOT certificates* Original Rolls-Royce toolkit* WED 94S cherished registrationThis is an appealing opportunity for an enthusiast, collector or marque specialist to recommission a comparatively uncommon right-hand-drive Silver Wraith II, benefiting from low mileage, ten-year current ownership and a particularly well-preserved interior. The car will require collection by trailer or transporter. Viewing is welcomed and strongly recommended. Serious enquiries only, please.
