For sale is my 1971 MGB GT finished in red. It's a genuine chrome bumper car that has been well cared for throughout its life and is only being sold because I simply no longer have the time it deserves. With working full-time and travelling regularly, I can't give it the attention needed to finish the restoration, so I'd much rather it went to an enthusiast who can enjoy and improve it.
The car starts and runs and has been serviced regularly. It is MOT exempt and comes with an extensive history file, including almost every receipt and invoice for work carried out over the years, with well documented history covering the last 20 years. It has had just six owners from new.
It has had a reconditioned engine replaced 2 years ago by the previous owner and the odometer currently shows 938 miles. I am not sure exactly what the mileage was prior to the new engine.
More photos to follow.

Description
This is a usable classic but there are a number of jobs that I'd planned to complete.
* Brakes work but would benefit from replacement calipers and a new brake servo.
* Carburettors would benefit from inspection and tuning.
* Paintwork is presentable but would benefit from cosmetic improvement or a respray if you're aiming for show condition. Has some chips/ cracks in the lacquer that need attention.
* Wheel nuts on three wheels have seized and will require attention.
* Interior would benefit from refurbishment.
* Passenger door currently only locks from the inside and the locking mechanism will need attention.
None of these jobs have stopped me enjoying the car, but I'd rather be completely honest so the next owner knows exactly what they're buying.
Overall, this is a very solid and attractive chrome bumper MGB GT with excellent provenance, an extensive history file and enormous potential. It would make a fantastic project for someone wanting a classic British sports car they can improve while enjoying along the way.
Viewing is welcomed and encouraged. Happy to answer any questions or provide additional photographs.

I bought this 1971 MGB GT because it has everything I love about a classic British sports car: timeless styling, real character and a driving experience that feels wonderfully mechanical and engaging.
What makes the MGB GT stand out is its combination of sports-car charm and genuine practicality. The Pininfarina-designed fastback shape still looks fantastic today, while the enclosed cabin and useful luggage space make it a classic you can actually enjoy on more than just a sunny Sunday morning.
There’s also something special about a car from this era that hasn’t been filtered through modern electronics. The steering, gearbox, engine note and view down the bonnet all make even an ordinary journey feel like an occasion.
My favourite thing about the car is its character. It has that unmistakable classic-car feel from the moment you get behind the wheel, and the GT body gives it a particularly handsome, purposeful look. It’s a car that attracts smiles and conversations wherever it goes, while still being straightforward enough to use and enjoy regularly.
For someone looking for an iconic British classic with style, personality and plenty of driving enjoyment, this MGB GT has a huge amount to offer.
