1973 Deluxe Bay window
My baby for 30 years is up for sale due to a horrendous divorce bill ?. I’m crying as I write this.
There’s a lot to list so here goes…
Although not a factory deluxe model (originally a Devon conversion) she has ALL the deluxe extras plus more, powered by an ultra reliable 2. 0 litre Subaru Impretza engine she sits on the motorway with modern traffic no problem and returns good mpg (just been fully serviced including new Cambelt and water pump) (comes with a spare block too)
Mated to a free way flyer gear box (built by cog box) she drives lovely (a wolf in sheep’s clothing).
Professional Conversion done by TSR motors Exning Newmarket.
Custom made stainless steel exhaust by A14 tyre n exhaust. (Bury st Edmund’s)
(Has excellent cab heating too)
Lite steer speed sensitive power steering.
Having undergone a no expense spared restoration some years ago using panels and parts supplied by the likes of Alan Scofield and all the best people in the game!
I have stacks of receipts and invoices from 30years of ownership and shes till looking near perfect (has the odd age related marks etc etc) BMW imola ll red paint with ford polar white on top. Painted dash board and the whole under side is also red, she’s in tip top condition, always garaged, rarely has she got wet in 30 years of ownership!
Paris beetles custom made top of the range mohair slide back sunroof in perfect condition and actually fitted by the man himself!
Creative engineering 2 and 3 wooden bow roof racks. Yacht varnished for a perfect finish. With folding side ladder.
Complete Interior new everything, door cards with deluxe trim, roof lining sound proofing, the full works, hand made and professionally fitted by the Camper Shack with 1970’s Porsche tomb stone seats with captains swivel base on both seats, rear full width rock and roll bed, cab bunk too. Sleeps two adults and one child although we have squeezed in more kids!
Full electrical hook up with split charge and leisure battery’s and solar panel for off grid camping! Gas hobs n grill.
Billet door handles and window winders.
Buttys bits accelerator linkage for super smooth driving.
Weave carpet set in cab from Mad Matz.
Black n white chequered flooring in rear.
Expensive genuine wooden Moto lita steering wheel (my 30th birthday present) with Porsche centre and chrome centre fittings.
Banded Split screen smoothy wheels professionally done by Essex banded steels (tyres have done approximately 1500 miles)
Narrowed front beam fully adjustable with bilstien shocks all round, springs spindles etc etc chassis also notched for extra clearance. Sensible low not silly low! And rides like a dream!
Front grill triple plate chromed at vast expense!
High end Tracker fitted.
Full blown stereo system with blue tooth hands free digital etc etc.
New genuine keys locks and handles all round on one key with spares supplied by no other than the famous VW key man Desi Yates!

She must go to a good home! She is a UK right hand drive from new. And has copies of all the previous owners V5s and a birth certificate built December 1972 registered January 1973, I owned her when she became tax exempt.
