Here is my 1971TR6. It's an early sought after CP engine model so 150bhp !
The car was subject to a body off restoration prior to me purchasing it. The chassis is in great condition and has been Hammerite painted.
The car interior was a bit tatty when I got it so as you can from the pictures I stripped everything back, you can see the whole floor pan is solid and rust free. I fitted sound deadening pads before fitting a complete new carpet set and trim panels and refurbished MX5 seats in black trim with red stitching. The boot floor is also in great condition and I have just fitted a new set of boot liner panels.
Engine wise I’ve fitted 6 new injectors new fuel lines a performance air filter and had the metering unit professionally refurbished by KMI Petrol Injection.
The distributor is new with integrated electronic ignition, performance HT leads, plugs and coil. It has a Bosch fuel pump conversion fitted along with a malpassi fuel pressure regulator.
The car also has an aluminium fuel tank.
As a result the car starts first time and goes really well.
There is an electric fan fitted with an override switch as a back up but even in the recent high temperatures it's only every come on for a few minutes in standing traffic. No overheating problems.
The hood and frame are in good condition although a couple of the press studs need replacing.
The car is MOT'd. This car is great example of the mark a real joy to drive.
After all the fuel system and ignition work it's a very reliable fun car to drive. The interior is top notch the paint work has a few chips etc but the car is still very presentable.
