Description

* Now with new MOT*

1970 Triumph TR6 P. I. early CP 150hp 2. 5L straight six U. K. car with Overdrive. Historic Vehicle - nil road Tax, no MOT required - but passed MOT today (21. 08. 26).

Located very near Gatwick, this is a great looking car in British Racing Green, with the original Lucas Petrol Injection (Bosch pump) and overdrive.

I've had the car since 2018 and have been on many adventures in her, including many club shows each year, and have just returned last weekend from a trip to Malvern in her.

Excellent chassis, floors, boot, wings etc all good. The paint still looks lovely and shiny, but of course there are areas commensurate with it's age, but it still turns heads and isn't so good that you'd be scared to drive it or park it anywhere and actually be able to use it as it was intended.

It has a mohair roof which is a great fit with clear windows, and includes the cover for when the roof is down.

Since owning it I have to tried to return it to nearer the standard factory look, changing such items as, wheels, rocker cover, dashboard, enamel front badge and early style grille, steering wheel and also returning the rear panel, windscreen surround and sills to black as it would have had originally.

Mechanically I've serviced the car and done oil and filter (it has the adapter to use a modem oil filter) changes, spark plugs etc each year. For the MOT it's just passed, I replaced the track rod ends and rack gaiter.

When I first got it I removed the sump to check the thrust washers and brought it back into spec. It also has Pertronix electronic ignition.

In my tenure it's also received stainless bumpers and stainless exhaust, which is big bore but standard looking, and means you don't catch it on speed bumps unlike the one it had fitted when I bought it.

Comes with a large file of receipts and previous MOT'S to confirm the mileage of 86, 953.

This is a great two seater sports convertible, one of the last to feature a separate chassis, which has been described as 'blokiest bloke's car ever built' on Top Gear.

It's comfortable driving position, powerful straight six engine, overdrive and top down motoring, with plenty of gauges to monitor what's going on, provides lot of smiles as you cruise around listening to the throaty sound of the exhaust. I've added a pinstripe to really accentuate the swage lines down each side.
